True commuter style

This is a minor sub-goal of mine: ride in normal everything clothing-wise. For many thus is a no-brainer. For me, the shoes and the cotton dressy shirts are hard.

But not awful.

Clearly, I can't show up to work like this. But I take the bus to work, so this could work.

  1. I've been in the same situation, and have been wondering how to avoid that. my goal is to ride on a bike with minimal weird clothes and minimal change. i've set up an IGH bike with flats, so i don't have to roll up pant legs and can wear normal shoes.

I'm tempted now to start wearing a heartrate monitor to try to throttle my effort and see what is the max i can do while minimizing the sweat. of course, that involves a monitor and watch, which is less then ideal. I could get a heartrate monitor that syncs with my phone, though...

  2. You might want to look into getting some wool shirts from Pendleton or Woolrich.

  3. I'm with Michael. 16 mile commutes each way. All I wear is Pendelton or Woolrish shirts. They look good and are really functional. I've also been trying out raincapes. Pretty interesting.
