They're flippen huge. My lame phone cam doesn't even come close to capturing their ruliness.
To make this a bike-related post: the wind farm entrance is located on the old Vantage highway between Vantage and Ellensburg.
If you ever get the urge to ride the John Wayne trail east-bound from Snoqualmie pass to the Columbia, and you're not riding a Pugsley, then get off the trail in Ellensburg and take the old Vantage highway. Do not attempt to cross the Yakima Firing Range. I speak from experience on this.

are those the 850kw turbines? I was passed by the blades for those on I-94 back in college. HUGE wide load on the highway.
I like the way the photos look from your phone.
I see more and more of these popping up. Yes, they are big.
their printed handout says these turbines produce up to 1.8 megawatts. each rotor blade is 129 feet long, and the total height of the turbine (rotor tip to base) is 351 feet. so amazing to see!!
That's bigger than most of the turbines around here. Wolf Ridge, I think, is mostly 850s.
I personally think that wind power is an excellent investment. They are relatively low maintenance, with the principle investment being recovered within a few years. If I had the capital--I'd build one.
i used to live not that far from there lol
