From the
last post. The rack is a perfect fit. The bag slides on and off effortlessly. The bike rides nicely with the small load he had in the bag. Easy no-hands riding. It should be easy and happy handling up to around 20 pound or so.
God I hate that rear rack.
Jon is very happy.
No jacket, sunglasses, dry streets - you're killing me.
ReplyDeleteKen: Yeah. it's been an insanely wonderful winter for riding. This year, we're set to break a record for the least amount of snowfall: 12"
ReplyDeleteAnd I think most of that melted w/in an hour or two of sticking.
Maybe you should come back?
John, the pics are kind of freaking me out. Looks like everthing is sloping way to the front. Please tell me that the rack sits level. Maybe it's just optical - the top of the bag is narrower than the bottom? Here's a photo I took during fit up:

Gonna have to get a look at this with my own eyes.
Pat: it's perfectly level. you could rest a marble on it. The bag is funny looking and it didnt have much in it.
ReplyDeleteHow do ride w/ naked bars? May just be a quirk of mine, but I would have to get those bars wrapped quick like.
ReplyDeleteA chicken in every pot.
ReplyDeleteA Pat-rack on every bike.
Jon Snyder for city council.
thank you very much
ReplyDeletePat's rack (really nice, BTW) only looks like its tipping forward because the rear rack appears to be accelerating toward the ground. I think you might could get it to go 90 degrees from level with longer stays, or perhaps pipe strapping...
ReplyDeleteI take it heel clearance is an issue?
Pax -- heel clearance isn't an issue. Jon just slapped the rack on there from his last bike with out adjusting the horizontal stays. Soon tht rack will be replaced with a Tubus Fly. (not soon enough though)
ReplyDeleteI can't stand it - I'm going to go re-level my Fly in hopes of restoring the world's karmic balance.
ReplyDeleteDry streets here too
