Get Ready For A Season Of Bike Commuting

I realize I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but I'm trying to help get the word out. If you or someone you know wants to ride but is afraid of traffic there are some classes coming up that can help immensely. Check out the information on Traffic Skills 101 classes and Bike Commuter Workshops on the Bike to Work Spokane web site.

Dang it! I added the closed captioning file but I can't get it to show.

Put a side view mirror on your bars. I mean really...would you ride a motorcycle or drive a car without using your rear or side view mirrors. Anything less is irresponsible as a cyclist no matter how "Fred" it may look. Use a handlebar for a few days and after watching the car-jockeying going on behind you, you'll never leave home without one.

No, I'd never leave home at all.

I just wish drivers would wear helmets.

They prevent accidents you know.

Oh, and if the cars would just get up on the sidewalk.

Roads are made for bicycles.

I've used bar-mounted mirrors, but for me it felt like it was too far out of my line of sight.

I like the Bike Peddler Take A Look Mirror. Mine is mounted to my helmet visor, but it can also mount to glasses. It works much better than any other bike mirror I've used. It was run over by a car once and it still works well.
