I had a text-book JRA moment on the trails this morning. The post-event inspection showed a longish skid mark where my front wheel locked up against a rock on the trail. Classic.
The skid mark arcs gracefully off the trail, where I distinctly remembering floating for a surreal millisecond before plummeting down the side of the bluff.
After
last week's shameless display of carnage, I'm embarrassed to show pictures of this morning's puncture wounds. So a photo of the post-op table will have to suffice.
And the nurse.

Had to look up JRA in the Urban Dictionary.
I'm not getting a visual--how does a front wheel lock up against a rock?
Keep up these posts and people are going to start thinking cycling is dangerous--well...cycling with you.
Visual: think of parking a big rig on a hill and blocking the tire so it doesn't roll away. Same idea, but without the parking part. The wheel stops moving, but the forward velocity of the mass hooked to the wheel keeps moving.
Danger of cycling: I know. I've thought of that too. Hopefully on-the-fencers won't see this stuff and think it's normal. My JRA is probably more accident-prone than most JRA'ers.
I said it last week, I'll say it again, and I expect that I will be saying it in the future:
OUCH ! !! !!!
Looks like you got more care and sympathy than I did when going endo on the bluff. Get better soon.
not killng yourself riding your bike would be ideal at this time.
