Spokane really is a beautiful city.

At two miles, my commute each day is fairly short.

But the highlight, both morning and night....

Is crossing that roaring river

twice.

And it's also really cool ...

how I can journey to France

without ever leaving Spokane.

The wind through my hair, the pavement flying by below

When you ride a bicycle, it really is true ...

the sky's the limit.

Very cool prose and photos! Thanks for the bright spot this morning.
Yes, the river. One of the things pulling me there.
Cross-check power!
Great pictures. Good looking spoke card, too!
beautiful pictures--lots of new views of places i've gotten to used to seeing (not seeing?)!
Exceptional post. Lovely photography and prose told a nice story.
I bet Surly would love to see your story too. :)
Fab post, Rachel, I think you hit a collective nerve. And the bike rack pic 'specially rules.
This is exactly why I chose to live here and exactly why I commute to work! Thanks for sharing!
That Surly is such a photo hog. :-)
Very cool. Thanks, Rachel.
Great post - pics and words both.
