Glen taught me how to prep and glue tubular tires today during my lunch hour.
I'm no pro, but I think I could do it in a pinch.
He also found and old Vitus that's my size. He built it up with Shimano 600 8spd SIS. We're taking it for a spin tomorrow.
The Vitus is an aluminum frame with small diameter tubing (compared to contemporary aluminum frames)that is epoxied together on internal "lugs." I'm promised a whippy ride. Sweet.
I'll have a report after tomorrow's ride.

Thats ridiculous. That bike is way too big for you.
No, don't do it, you will hurt the poor little vitus. I will go on the record as saying that whippy is kind of neat, but then you are kind of a big rider so your bike breaks and you are sad. And then you realize that it is kind of nice when the bike does not whip around so much.
The end.
Tarik: I must.
But my buddy Patrick said pretty much the same thing: "dude, you are so gonna break that bike."
your vitus truly isnt complete without these:

remember, if you're going =90's, the more anodized parts, the better.
When it comes to bling, you're king Rory. Those are sweet.
Lets make this our little secret; the frame is already damaged and has little or no value. Nobody tell John
As my 'cross bike can attest, 8-speed SIS is where it's at:

Don't let anyone tell you different.
oh, it's on like donky kong.
scott drop in handlebards
modolo stem
or
cinelli xa stem/handlebars (26.4 diameter handlebars are better!!!!)
mavic reflex rims on bullseye hubs
-anodized nipples, of course
12-23 8 speed cassette
dura ace 7410 cranks, with the anodized chainring bolts
in fact, let's assume we've got the entire SRP bolt kit replacement
lest we also forget the argument for the leather hairnet versus the giro hammerhead SC?
Rory -- I actually think there are anodized nipples on this bike. They're black anyway.
Dylan: the brifters were kind of rad. But only because I didn't set them up.
