Spring run-off has not started.
Many slash-piles were a'burnin' in the 'hood.
Need to burn some of my own slash.
We've got a few downed trees and some other winter bullying to clean up.
Otherwise, I predict a fine fishing, biking, beering, hanging season at the river this year.

The very existence of this word makes me want to have a Freshet Festival, whereby the annual ritual, "fixing the goddamn plumbing," is paired with slash burning-bonfire-chicanery, and a bike trip up S. Boulder Creek road until we hit snow.
