Front triangle and forks

Glen is just about as far as he can go without having wheels in hand. Rims/spokes/tires should arrive on Monday. Goal is to get to powder coat next Friday.

As is obvious, the front triangle there is non-standard. He needed more slope on the top tube for Maddie's stand over, so he attached the top tube to the bottom of the head tube and went with stays for the down tube. Cool.

There are a couple extra inches on the seat tube and head tube that will go away soon, but he needed the length to fit into his jig, which he had to hack (think cutting/welding/adapting/bolting) to fit such a tiny frame. He says this is the smallest frame he can make. (Maddie is about 4' 3".)

Dig the fillets. Nice. He said he's not going to do any finish work on the welds. Suits me. They look finished to me.

The forks are so stinking cute! The stays are Reynolds 708. The steerer is 531. The crown is a Glen-made beauty. The tops of the forks have a bit of thin plate steel TIG'd to the top. I should've taken a photo of the finished ends. Very lovely.

This is Glen TIG'ing one of the plates onto the fork end. TIG'ing is generally pretty rad.

I like the look of the little triangle behind the head tube. Just for style, could the seat stays run parallel to the downtube stays, and cross the seat tube to form another little triangle with the top tube? Or maybe that would make the rear triangle too small.

Eager to see the final bike--very cool.

Rad. It's good to see another bike rocking the twin downtube besides the cargoturd.

Think of a GT triple triangle frame.

Cool link. Here's a frame with a headtube triangle and a "GT" rear triangle.

i'll second alex's post about the twin stays, and i like the look of the "fastback" style of attachment for them.
