Fixing the Nite Rider

Pat has all the right tools. And a warm, clean shop.

Well if Pat has the tools I guess you should fix it. It took a while but my minewt x2 eventually failed in the wire to the light. I was extremely happy to get on of the new one piece niterider units, the 250. I was less happy when a month later the 600 came out to replace it for the same price.

Mine failed on the wire too -- right at the interface between where the jack ends and the wire starts. If that makes any sense. I think we fixed it though. Silicone is still drying, so until I commute with it, I can't claim success.
Unfortunately, the unit is out of warranty.
I'm pondering a one-piece NiteRider...
